The Arkansas River Historical Society established the "Hall of Fame" in 1991. The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to honor those persons who have performed significant and outstanding service in the development of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. The Hall of Fame is a tribute to the perseverance individuals exhibited while refusing to abandon their belief that navigation on the Arkansas River was feasible. Nominees are recommended to the Arkansas-Oklahoma Port Operators Association board members and up to four honorees are selected each year. I’ve attached a list of past inductees into the Arkansas River Hall of Fame.
Please consider nominating a champion of the waterway. Nominations for the Arkansas River Hall of Fame Ceremony sponsored by the Arkansas-Oklahoma Port Operators Association are now being accepted. Information on the Arkansas River Hall of Fame including the nomination form is found on our website at http://aopoa.net/history/HOFNominationForm.pdf. I’ve also attached a nomination form. Nominations for the Arkansas River Hall of Fame should be sent to Kimbra Scott at firstname.lastname@example.org. Nominations must be submitted by April 1, 2019.
The award ceremony will be held on August 14, 2019 in Tulsa, OK at the River Spirit Event Center in conjunction with the AOPOA Annual Meeting. For more Information on the meeting contact Kimbra Scott at 918-682-7886 or via email.
