On February 10th, RiverWorks Discovery hosted its first "Who Works the Rivers" of 2023 in Vicksburg, MS. From deckhands to welders, high schoolers expressed interest in the careers the river offers.

Students had fun throwing out lines and exploring the three locations they visited: The Jesse Brent Lower Mississippi River Museum, a tour of Ergon Marine's Grocery & Parts Warehouse, and Hinds Community College. At the museum, they climbed aboard an old United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) towboat.

Good news! Some students filled out the career survey. Some students expressed interest in becoming a deckhand but many of the students interested in a career in Vicksburg shared an interest in welding.
